Hei everybody,
My name is Hisashi, from a Japanese classic car magazine called Nostalgic Hero (
http://geibunsha.co.jp/mag/nh/p/). I'm interested in learning about Datsun and other Japanese classics activities in Finland. Can anybody explain me how Datsuns and other Japanese classics are populated in Finland? The magazine's interest is typically 1970s and older, and some interest in 1980's cars.
There will likely be a chance for me to visit Helsinki on Saturday, April 25th. I'd love to meet the owners of Datsuns and other Japanese classics. Are there any around in the Helsinki area? Please help me understand Japanese classics in your country.
I apologize not understanding your language, but if somebody can communicate in English either on Forum or via email, that's fantastic. Thank you!
Hisashi

Dont know what matsuda said there, but there are few S30 Datsuns near Helsinki and couple near Turku. That is about 150 kilometers from Helsinki. You should visit there too. I think we can try to ask the owners what they think about meeting you. Everyone is not so active readers here.

Hi Hisashi,
Welcome to DNSF forum.
My name is Tero and i am vice chairman of DNSF Ry -club.
In our club we have 24 members who owns 1970s S30 Datsun Z. Seven of them are located in near Helsinki and rest are basicly around the Finland. If i look public car registration database i can see that there is total 41 Datsun Z
from 1970s between license plates. So around half of Classic Z owners in Finland are member of our club! We have also one member who owns 1966 Datsun Fairlady Roadster.
In our forum there is "members only" -area for club members only. I can tell that there is several interesting Datsun Z -projects ongoing. DNSF Ry -club organizes 6-7 trackdays yearly at summertime - we can see Classic Z
in those events also. I think Datsun Z
are alive and well in Finland!
We could try to arrange something when you visit to Finland. Do you have full day free or just few hours?

Hi Matsuda, Zage, Tero, thanks for your messages. Especially I appreciate your offer Taro. You guys've got quote nice statistics. Glad to know so many Datsuns in Finland. I should have time at least half day, maybe a full day. A meeting would be great, but as the season is not ideal, garage visit tours would also be nice.
I'm interested in Datsuns and all other Japanese classics. Original is the main focus, but mods are also good. I want to learn the history and today's activities in your country, and hopefully I can create a magazine article to report those to the Japanese readers. The image below is the one I created when I visited New Zealand. They were mostly young guys but it was a very interesting trip.
I come to Helsinki this time to visit a firm there, different from the automotive. So I have limited time; I should be freed on Friday evening and catch a flight either Saturday evening or Sunday early morning to Amsterdam likely. I should know my trip details in a few days. I respond to Matsuda via PM. Also trying to arrange with the NCF guys. Let's see how it turns out!
Mmm, I can't attach an image. How can I do it?

You can't add images to your forum messages if you're not a dnsf club member. You'll have to link them from other sources.. :/
